Carolina Nonwovens Implements PLEX Software to Better Serve Customers

Carolina Nonwovens, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Spinning Co., Inc. recently implemented a new enterprise planning system (ERP) and manufacturing execution system (MES) to help improve operational efficiencies and better serve its customers. The new ERP/MES system was provided by PLEX, a division of Rockwell Automation and replaces separate systems that had been in place for over twenty years. The PLEX system immediately offered better production scheduling options and visibility of raw materials with usage history to protect from unexpected outages of necessary material. In addition, real-time tracking of production became available to provide useful information on the status of each order. The implementation went so smoothly that Carolina Nonwovens was highlighted in a case study as a model implementation of the PLEX system, as shown in the attached video.
