Carolina Nonwovens Introduces New Solution for the Power Generation Market

Carolina Nonwovens, LLC is excited to launch the SilentCore 5003 series of products that are a natural, recycled nonwoven fiber insulation alternative to fiberglass, urethane foam, and mineral wool as a noise reduction solution for the power generation market. It has been developed with a proprietary blend of natural and man-made fibers with a specific appearance and performance criteria in mind.

SilentCore 5003 is produced on a state-of-the art nonwoven processing line under the strictest of quality procedures and process controls to ensure repeatability and compliance to all established specifications. The product is environmentally friendly (made from recycled fiber and is recyclable) and is easy to handle in the field without the skin irritation associated with mineral wool and fiberglass.

SilentCore 5003 has been certified for applications or end uses requiring UL2200, UL94 V0, or UL723 Class A – 25/50 “plenum rating.” The material is also UL certified to FTSR2 and FTSR8 – UL/ULC2000 as of February 2026.
